Book Marked

It is pretty common for me not being able to complete reading the books I have loaned from the library when they are due. I would then return them first before re-borrowing them the next time.

I realised that sometimes - in fact many times, I would borrow back the same copy (the library may have a few copies of the same book), based on some markings or imperfection I'd seen in the last loan. For the very last return of a book that I had borrowed, written by Buddhist Teacher Thich Nhat Hanh, I purposely left a little "bookmark" made of a fortune cookie slip that I actually used in the book reading. No issue with giving this slip away to another reader, should I not get the same book back. And I also would like to experiment if I DO get the same copy back ☺️

I made sure I memorized the page number of that page last read, in case I would lose that bookmark, or not borrow the same copy of book.

So upon chancing that title when I next visited the library, I quickly flipped to that chapter/page. There it was, still waiting for me to receive it! I smiled back at the little fortune cookie slip ☺️

As would the contents be sharing in the book, life presentts itself with many suffering events and experiences. Yet, there are plenty of moments of joy and happiness should we allow ourselves to see them, feel them and be touched by them. These moments lie in our true "home".

The home in the moment.

THANK YOU 🙏
